Alabama Superintendents Panel Highlights Character Development

The Hope Institute is pleased to announce that we are now a business member of the School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA), strengthening our commitment to partnering with education leaders across the state. This membership reflects our continued focus on supporting school systems in building strong, character-centered school cultures that help students and educators thrive.

As part of SSA’s fall conference, The Hope Institute organized and hosted a panel discussion featuring superintendents who shared firsthand perspectives on their districts’ character development initiatives in partnership with The Hope Institute. The panel offered practical insights into how fostering a culture of character has positively influenced student outcomes, strengthened school communities, and supported effective leadership practices across their districts.

We are deeply grateful to the superintendents who generously shared their experiences and leadership:

  • Dr. Mike Daria – Tuscaloosa City Schools

  • Dr. Todd Freeman – Vestavia Hills City Schools

  • Dr. Regina Thompson – Fairfield City Schools

  • Dr. Patrick Martin – Trussville City Schools

  • Dr. Jimmy Shaw – Florence City Schools

We extend our sincere thanks to each of these leaders for their support of The Hope Institute as well as for their dedication to cultivating the character and potential of the students they serve.
